You can't install LR5 or LR6 on Catalina or Big Sur. Like Levina stated it will run on newer versions but might has issues. The only reason I'm saying it might be time to move on as LR5 is it's 12 years old.

I just did a quick search for free software. Even Macs photo editor is pretty good I read. There have been so many changes since LR5 was introduced.
I never use it but I couldn't pass it up at that price. I got mine for $25 but that was a few years ago. Look for deals on Affinity which is like PS. If you don't use it much I'd look into an alternative, unless you really need LR's DAM.
